Landing Pages That Seduce
A few weeks ago we wrote a post about creating a love affair through your marketing, well now we are writing on the art of seduction. We recently read a blog by Scott Brinker of Search Engine Land and it was so on target with the fundamentals of marketing and what business should be doing that we had to share it.
“People don’t just want to be educated about what you offer. They want to be seduced.”
Yes, seduced. Being seduced is an exhilarating experience. (If you haven’t tried it yet, we highly recommend it.) Yes, we want to be educated and make rational decisions that optimize our goals. But we also yearn to be romanced, enchanted, in love. We seek brains and beauty. Is that an unrealistic paradox?
It doesn’t have to be.

One of the key things that it discusses is that YES search engine optimization is oober important, but so is the visceral experience once you get people there. You can’t forget that part or the sales funnel stops as soon as they get to your home page. Keep the best practices but don’t throw out the meat of who you are, what you do, and the experience that you want people to have when they interact with you.
